  • Yes, Physio with Amina offers virtual appointments to residents of Ontario. Please click here for more information.

  • Physio with Amina accepts private clients. We do not accept Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) clients.

  • No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to access physiotherapy services. However, some insurance companies may ask for a doctor’s referral. Please get in touch with your insurance provider for more information.

  • Physio with Amina does not bill your insurance company. Payment for physiotherapy is accepted on the day of your appointment. At the end of your physiotherapy session, Amina will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • This answer depends on your first evaluation, as multiple factors determine the number of visits. Amina will review a detailed treatment plan outlining the required treatment sessions on your first evaluation.

  • Before your first appointment, you will receive an email asking you to fill out an intake form (personal information, medical history, etc.).

    On the day of your appointment, you will experience a friendly, caring, and welcoming environment, starting as soon as Amina walks through the door. Amina values your time and will show up promptly at the start time of your appointment.

    You will have a one-on-one assessment with Amina, who will conduct a thorough subjective and objective examination. Depending on the nature of your condition or injury, treatment may be provided on the first visit. Amina will then review your prognosis and goals and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you return to your daily activities.

  • For your first visit, please make sure you have the following:

    • Any paperwork or forms you have, such as any reports from a physician, MRI or x-ray results, etc.

    • If you currently use any brace, splint, walking aid (i.e., crutches), etc.

  • Please make sure you are wearing loosely fitted clothing. If you are dealing with a condition affecting the upper body, please ensure you have a t-shirt on. If you are dealing with a condition affecting the lower body, please ensure you have shorts on. If you are uncomfortable wearing such clothing, please inform Amina.

  • Please note that all appointments require at least 24 hours notice before canceling or rescheduling. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance or are a no-show to your appointment, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment. If you need to reschedule, please contact Amina here.
